I think it’s safe to say that today is the ultimate Monday of all Mondays with everything going on in the world.
To be honest, up until about mid-week last week I wasn’t too concerned about this whole virus thing but shit got real pretty fast when we were notified school would be closing for a month. My anxiety instantly shot through the roof and I, like many started to feel a bit more concern & fear for what is to come.
This weekend, I struggled with the idea of going on with “business as usual” because it doesn’t feel like a usual kind of world right now. Grocery store shelves are empty, businesses are closing, people who desperately need to work, can’t and stress is at an all time high with so much uncertainty hanging in the air.
I sat with my own anxiety for a bit and kept asking myself…
What can I do? How can I help? How can I be of service in a way that really matters?
The first thought that came up was self-care because I can’t be of service to anyone if I’m not taking care of myself. The same goes for you too.
So, if you’re struggling a bit with anxiety, fear, or just plain overwhelm with everything going on at the moment, here are three things to help you cope.
- Morning routine. If you are working from home unexpectedly or you have kids and they are at home with you, this is going to be critical. Having some semblance of a routine for you and your family is going to be more powerful than you realize. Find a routine that works for you & helps you feel grounded and ready mentally as you move into your day. And don’t forget your mindset work.
- Move your body. Whether you do it first thing in the morning or later in the day, I highly recommend at least 20 minutes of exercise or stretching each day. It will not only boost your immune system, but also help you clear your head and help you feel more at peace. There are tons of free workouts available online or if you’re interested, I can send you a few free workouts to try on the platform I use.
- Meditate. Whether you listen to a guided meditation or sit in silence, spend some time each day getting quiet and going within. Meditation is good for so many things, but the thing I find it to be most helpful with is creating a peaceful mind amongst all the chaos. This is a practice that is also as good for the body as it is for the mind, so give it a try.
And if you are looking for a bit more support for your mindset at the moment I also came up with a few ways I can help.
–> I am opening 5 free 30 minute support chats this week for anyone who could use a bit of mindset support at the moment. If you are interested in one of these sessions, please simply email here and I’ll send you the link to schedule. I may open a few more spots depending on the response I get.
–> 30 Days of support: Pay what you can. I’ve decided to open my membership program for 30 days of mindset support and you get to decide what to pay. This membership will be hosted in a private Facebook group and will include weekly trainings, journal assignments, individual mindset support, Q & A threads, 2 open coaching calls for your specific concerns & more. We officially begin March 23rd, but I’ll be jumping into the group throughout this week & sharing additional resources to support you. Simply sign up HERE & I’ll send you the link to join us. (Note: this is truly a pay what you can so if you would like to join us please do!)
We are in a really precarious & important time right now collectively.
How we choose to view, engage, and respond to these next few weeks on both an individual and collective level will literally create our future. So, let’s remember who we are and use this time to connect to ourselves and pre-pave the way for an incredible life and world on the other side.
If you need support, please reach out. We need each other now, more than ever.
Sending you tons of love today!
