A few weeks ago I posted a message on Facebook about how mindset work is indeed for everyone. You don’t have to be a high achiever, athlete or entrepreneur to get the most out of mindset work. It is something that I believe benefits everyone regardless of who you are or what you want.
But, how do you know when your mindset is the problem-meaning it’s the thing you need to focus on to create the outcomes you want in life?
Below are 4 ways to know if it’s a mindset thing…
1. All the action, but no change. When you are doing all the things and you still aren’t seeing results, it’s likely a mindset thing. We are so accustomed to working hard, checking boxes and doing all that we know to do that we often think that action alone should get us to where we want to be. For some people, maybe that is true but for most, mindset is a key piece of the puzzle. Not only does it help you take the right action (aka the path of least resistance), it also tends to help you get to where you are going with more ease (and a lot faster). Your mindset/energy influences what actions you take and ‘how’ you take them & that’s more important than you realize.
2. All the thinking, but no action. When you want to change your life, but you’re afraid to take the leap it’s likely because your mindset is getting in the way. You might be afraid to commit to the process because you don’t believe it will work for you. You might have a slew of doubt, fear, insecurity and the like that’s been reinforced by situations from your past and you just don’t want to fail…again. Or you’re simply overthinking what is the “right” vs “wrong” action to take and it results in analysis paralysis. Overthinking + no action = no change.
3. Stuck in a cycle of success & sabotage. This is a common challenge I see in the health & wealth arena. When you begin to see shifts and changes in any area of your life, but you’re not also doing the belief work to support those changes long-term, sabotage often follows. The reason is simply because you haven’t yet developed an identity around the new level you are reaching for, so you backslide & go back to what is known. If you’re seeing some success and it is immediately followed by some form of sabotage, it’s likely a mindset thing.
4. You feel stuck & unhappy. I added this one in because I often hear people say they just feel stuck & unhappy. While they may not know exactly what they want or need, they know there is more available to them, but they don’t know where to begin. Mindset is key in defining not only what you want but also how to get there.
We could get into more specific things that might let you know you’ve got a mindset challenge going on, but these are the things I see most often.
Again, mindset work is for EVERYONE. If you want to shift, change or rearrange any area of your life or you simply want to intentionally up-level some area, mindset is *key*. Lasting change comes when you shift how you think and what you believe about yourself, life, money, love, health, etc. It’s a critical component of creating the life you want & without it, well your results aren’t going to be what they could be.
