When it comes to your self-care rituals, “How full is your self-care cup?”
If you’re feeling like your cup has a bit of a whole in it at the moment, you’re not alone.
In fact, the other day I woke up with a ton of anxiety, moodiness, and just a general weird feeling.
Mentally, nothing seemed out of the ordinary. In fact, over the last few weeks life’s been pretty good (busy, but good) so I couldn’t quite pinpoint what was going on.
A quick internet search and a message to a few of my colleagues in the coaching world and I realized that the planets were doing some funky stuff that was resulting in old emotions rising to the surface and just a general weirdness in the air.
To be honest, I’m not entirely sure about all of the planetary business, but I do know that Mercury is now in Retrograde and that tends to come with its fair share of challenges. (I don’t blame everything on the planets, but if the emotion fits…well…).
When you add to that the general hustle and bustle of the holiday season coupled with some parenting challenges and such, it can become a bit of a hairy situation.
The more I thought about the anxiety and moodiness that popped up the other day, the more I realized I have been 100% off my self-care game.
In fact, in the last 2 weeks…
• My mindset practice has been pretty hit or miss (mostly miss)
• My workout routine has been completely non-existent
• I haven’t slept properly in weeks and most nights don’t get to bed before 11pm
• My energy is a bit scattered and most of my business planning/tasks have fallen by the wayside
No wonder I’m feeling a bit off.
The majority of the things that keep this empath sane and grounded on a regular basis have fallen by the wayside. It’s no wonder self-care has been the #1 thing my clients are struggling with at the moment.
Well played, Universe…well played.
I guess what I’m trying to say is that if self-care is the thing that tends to fall by the wayside for you when life gets busy and shit hits the fan…
