If you’ve been following me for a while you likely know that I have no problem sharing the good, bad and the indifferent with you when it comes to this journey. I would love to tell you it’s all sunshine and rainbows, but it wouldn’t be a learning journey if that were the case. So, I try to share it all with you in hopes that my thoughts and insights are helpful for you and you see that bumps in the road are totally normal. So let’s get into it shall we
The challenges I’ve been working through recently really boil down to this…
Upheavals lead to up-levels.
While I wouldn’t consider this particular challenge an “upheaval” compared to some of the other up-levels I’ve gone through over the years, it is essentially the same idea. I’m up-leveling in a big way as are many of my clients.
Here’s what that looks like for me at the moment.
1. I broke my 135 day mindset streak!! After 135 consecutive days of doing my mindset practice seemingly automatically, I just…stopped and I didn’t realize it until about 2-3 days later. Truthfully it didn’t seem like such a big deal at the time, but I was curious about why. Why did this seemingly automatic/easy practice just fall by the wayside after 135 days & what were the effects?
I can’t quite pinpoint why it fell by the wayside other than my mind being a bit scattered and feeling out of sorts due to some schedule changes the last week or so. The effects however were pretty interesting. While I didn’t judge myself for missing a few days, I could feel that I hadn’t really been all that connected to the energy of the practice. At some point in my journey it became just another (sometimes mindless) action I was doing each day and that was the issue. I didn’t feel the feels that went along with it and so I stopped unconsciously.
Now that I see it, I realize I need to make some changes to my practice and make sure I am energetically engaged with it and not just going through the motions. #LessonLearned
May this be a lesson for you to check in with your own practice and make sure you’re connected to it and if not, switch it up!
2. Learning to live it while I’m in it. One of my core desires that surround virtually everything I do in and outside my business is connected to creating a life of freedom. I desire maximum freedom in my time, finances, work, creativity etc. and over the last 8+ years, while I’ve been working on building a business to deliver exactly that, I realized (with the help of my coach) that I’m not really living in the freedom I have available to me now.
Through my business, I have the ability to work when and how I like. I have the freedom to take days off as needed (or really whenever I decide to) and the time and opportunity to go to the beach any time I damn-well please. However...I have a really hard time with all of that.
So, I dug a little deeper and realized I’ve got a bit of mindset work to do around “ease” & trusting that I get to expand to the next level in a beautiful way that feels good, fun, freeing, and yes…easy.
I’ve got some blocks popping up around living the island life and at times I feel guilty when things feel “too good”. I sometimes feel like I’m “cheating” the system & am somehow doing it wrong because for so long I’ve really worked hard to get to this place. And before I get into the upper-limit problem that Gay Hendricks speaks about in his book The Big Leap, I’m working through the junk so I can get to the other side.
To do that, I’m asking myself a few questions including…
–>Is it true? Is it true that I’m cheating the system? Is it true that I should feel guilty about life when it feels good and hold back on sharing it? Is it true that it has to be hard? (The answer to all of those questions is of course…no!)
–>What do I choose to know and believe? I choose to know that I am worthy & deserving of the freedom I desire. I choose to trust that this is how it gets to be, not only for me, but everyone and the more I learn to do this and get better at it, the more I am able to help others do the same. I also choose to know and believe that this is just part of the journey to the next level & it doesn’t have to mean anything.
I am also practicing these new beliefs, embodying the energy of them & intentionally creating space in my calendar to take time off, go to the beach & practice living the freedom I’ve always wanted while I’m in it.
We all have things we can do now, even as we continue to expand to the next level, so my hope is that this is a nice reminder for you to do just that.
One of the things I’m constantly trying to remember is that this journey is never-ending. There are layers to our growth and expansion and each level brings about a new awareness, clarity and many lessons along the way. It also brings incredible experiences, freedom and tons of joy we didn’t know was possible. This is why we are here.
The truth is, this is why I feel called to do this work. My job is to walk this path, share what I learn and hopefully support you in moving forward on your own path in a more aligned & expansive way.
I hope that by continuing to share my journey, it’s helpful for you to know that you are not alone. We are truly in this thing together & thank goodness for that!
Do you resonate with any of the things I shared above? If so, I’d love to know. Post a comment below and let me know!
That’s it for now! I hope you are having a wonderful week!
P.S.
