It’s time to stop gaslighting yourself with “mindset work”…
Here’s what I mean…
–>Every time you feel grumpy, shitty, frustrated or annoyed because life is life’n, the world is at war or things are just hard for you right now & you try to “positively think” your way out of it…you’re gaslighting yourself.
–>Every time you feel like you “should” feel happier, better & more grateful when you just want to burn it all down & start from scratch…you do it.
When you try and talk yourself out of what you’re feeling because you’re trying to “think positively”-you do it.
And despite what other teachers & gurus might tell you about-“thinking happy thoughts” isn’t mindset work & it’s not changing your beliefs or improving your life in those scenarios.
True mindset work isn’t about discounting your feelings or shaming yourself into thinking better.
It’s about feeling the feels, witnessing what’s happening & once the feels have processed- choosing/practicing/reframing the story/ meaning you give it.
Your feelings are valid, true & very real AND your brain can come up with incredibly wild (& untrue) stories about those feelings.
So, how about you give yourself a bit of grace & compassion when you’re in the weeds of life & let yourself be human for a bit?
Then, when you’re ready-go for a walk, move your body & get back to the mindset work that you love so much.
Life gets better when you learn to do this.
