<<Note: The Post-Holiday Giveaway is still going strong and winners will be announced on January 1st.  If you haven’t signed up yet, you can do so here.  Awesome gifts to help you plan for the epic year ahead!>>

In light of the year coming to a close this week, I felt the need to do my reflection in a bit of a different way.  Throughout this post are links to some of my posts from this year.  Feel free to walk down memory lane with me as we say goodbye to 2014.  Enjoy!

Dear 2014,

I wanted to take a moment to share with you my deep appreciation for what you have done for me this past year.  It’s been an amazing and memorable year with lots of highs and lows to be celebrated equally.  I’ve had moments when I didn’t think I could manage and others when I didn’t know just how good it could get and I’m forever grateful.

Before the year began, I decided my words for the year would be to “Show Up”.  It took some work, but by mid-year I had stepped out and into my power.  That momentum is ever-growing and had it not been for the theme I selected, many things may not have happened.

I also connected with an amazing tribe of women, many of whom became clients, mentors, friends, and teachers for me.  Some are still here and some have left my path, but I am so happy for the many connections I made early this year because I have learned so much.

I’ve learned to value my voice, my purpose, and my vision for the future.  I’ve learned to connect with my intuitive guidance and allow that to lead me forward in life and in my business, but most of all I learned that I have the power to make the best decisions from my heart and there is no amount of information or guidance from others that can stand in the way of that.

I’ve gained clarity about what I love to do, who I love to work with, and how investing in myself has proven to be one of the best things I can do.  It took a few months (almost 10) to get to this point, but I’m glad I made it.

Throughout the year, I also managed to make huge leaps in my life and business simply by being willing to be seen a bit more.  I took risks that lead to videos, published articles, and amazing opportunities I never would have had, had it not been for my desire to really share my light with the world.  It’s been an amazing ride for sure.

More recently, I’ve made some pretty wonderful connections and breakthroughs that are sure to catapult me into entirely new territory for the upcoming year and again I am grateful.

For every lesson, challenge, new dream, fallen desire, connection, friendship, success, and everything in between, I find myself full of gratitude for it all, for without it, I wouldn’t be where I am today.  Prepped and ready for a new, amazing year that will be nothing less than epic.

Thank you 2014. You have gotten me ready for the year ahead and I can’t wait to see what is waiting for me.

With love,

Lamisha

Announcing: Resolution Refresh, A 7-Day Challenge

September 1, 2014 by Lamisha

b e a c h  p a r t y(1)

Oh my, time flies when you’re having fun huh?  It’s September already and I’m curious how many of you have actually looked at your New Years Resolutions/Intentions since say February or March?

If you are like many people, you probably haven’t taken a proper look to see where you stand as far as your goals are concerned.  Today I am inviting you to take a look and see how far you have come.

I’ll wait….

You’re back? Awesome! So, how did it go?

Were you surprised to find a few of your items ticked of your list?  (Congrats!)

How about the items you haven’t gotten to yet?  If you are like most people the things that are still unfinished are likely outweighing the things that you have accomplished from your list.  That’s totally normal.

Don’t panic, I know we only have 4 months left in the year, but that is a TON of time to make some major progress on the things that are truly aligned with what you want and who you are.

And lucky for you aside from being the Blind Spot Expert, I am also really action-oriented and pretty kick-ass with accountability (if I do say so myself.)

So, here’s the deal.  I have created a 7-Day Challenge to help get your rear in gear.  And I know you have seen a million ‘challenges’ where you get emails everyday with action items and at about day 3 you begin deleting the emails.  (I have done the same thing.) But, this challenge is a bit different.

While I will be sending you emails everyday with action items, each email is meant to help you really determine what is most important to you and to guide you to the next step using the very powerful and amazing wisdom within…your intuition.

So, in reality this is more than just a ‘get shit done’ kind of challenge.  It’s all about alignment, listening, releasing, and taking the next step to make magical things happen in your life…by the end of the year.

Sound good?

The challenge officially begins September 8th, however registration will remain open until September 15th for those of you who decide to hop on the Resolution Refresh train a bit later.

And since you will be so graciously allowing me into your very sacred mailbox, I promise to keep the emails short, sweet, and to the point so you can get to the very powerful action items easily. Deal?

Sign-up for the Resolution Refresh Challenge and watch the rest of your year transform in some truly amazing ways.

I want you to know that I am doing this challenge along with you and will be sharing my insights on Facebook and Twitter and I encourage you to join me using #ResolutionRefresh so we can keep up with your amazing progress.  I am super excited to dig into my 2014 goals to see how far I have come and to realign my inentions for the rest of the year.

Let’s end the year with a bang shall we?

Big love to you all!

Mindset, Keeping Score, & How to Make Them Work for You!

July 21, 2014 by Lamisha

Just recently I decided to jump-start my fitness routine again in an attempt to get healthy and create a bit of structure for my workday.  I have to say it’s been pretty great…for the most part.

Growing up I was fairly active.  I danced from 8th grade through high school and into college so I never really had to worry about getting to the gym and making time to work out.  It just happened.  I took dance classes and loved it so it hardly ever felt like ‘work’.  Just a couple of hours a week doing something I love.

This time is a bit different.

I get up every morning and do the ‘work’.  Despite how much it burns in my abs or in my quads, I know that I will feel better having done it.  I just have to get through the 30 minutes.  The work out I am doing is a Beachbody program and it uses 1 minute increments for each exercise and I can’t tell you how many times I have looked at the time left and wished I hadn’t.  Just when I think I am close to being finished, I look up only to realize I am only half way there.  For some reason it makes the second half of the minute seem so much longer!

Well last week I decided to try something a little different.  I decided that instead of looking at the clock or counting the number of squats or mindsetcrunches I am able to complete,  I would just focus on a spot on the wall in front of me through the entire minute.  Funny enough, it seemed like the minute passed by so much faster AND it didn’t feel so hard.

This is a perfect example of how holding your vision while not ‘keeping score’ can help your mindset.

I will be the first to admit that when it comes to my goals or intentions, I am a score-taker.  I like to monitor where I am and how far I am from my goal and while that doesn’t seem like a bad thing, I find it to be discouraging at times.  It can often make it feel like I’m just never going to make it...there.

It’s like saying I want to go to California and all along the way being discouraged that I’m not there yet.  Or wanting to work with 100 clients in 2014 (a true goal of mine for this year) and feeling discouraged when I count I have only worked with 40.

It is ALL about mindset.

If you instead celebrate the progression from where you started to where you want to be AND keep your focus on your vision, something magical happens.  Things feel better, run more smoothly, and you get there much faster.

The same works for whether you are working out, wanting to lose weight, or make a certain dollar figure during the year.

3 Key Steps:

  • Know where you started
  • Celebrate your progression (no matter how small)
  • Keep your ultimate goal/vision alive through focus

startnowAs long as you are consistently taking inspired action and keeping your mindset positive, you will get there.  It just takes a bit of patience, focus, and sometimes accountability.  And if you are finding yourself struggling with getting started or need help to keep going, think about getting yourself a coach.  I have opened 5 individual spots for the month of August for my 1-Month Jump Start program and while I had previously decided not to run this program again until November, I changed my mind because I know how much can happen in 1 month.  I would love to help support you as you envision and create the life & business of your dreams so if this is something you are interested in you can schedule your 30-min. consultation here.  We have 5 months left in 2014 what haven’t you started that you wanted to do this year?  It’s not too late to get started, I promise working with me for 1 month can make all the difference in you creating the life of your dreams.  Are you ready?

Guest Post, Podcast Interview, and Announcements, Oh My!

January 8, 2014 by Lamisha

We are officially one week into 2014 and I don’t know about you, but I have hit the ground running and am so excited for how the rest of the month and year is going unfold.

If you missed it yesterday, please check out the guest post that I did for Steadily Skipping Stones that provides 5 Tips To Give Your “Resolutions” A Fighting Chance.

I am also so very excited to share with you the podcast interview I did for People I Almost Know.  A few months back, I stumbled upon a post with interest for new people to interview for an awesome podcast.  I had never done a podcast interview, but thought what the heck!  I had so much fun doing that interview!  If you are interested in knowing a bit more about me, the coaching process, and how to get out of your own way, hop on over and check it out!

As you may know, I had set an intention to fill my calendar with free-coaching sessions for anyone who was interested in setting a plan for 2014.  I am still doing that, however this offer is only good through the end of January.  So, if you are interested please contact me to get your session scheduled BEFORE January 31st.  At that time, my “intro” session will go back to a brief introduction to coaching, how I work, and will help clients determine if we are a good fit.

I want to help you make the rest of the year incredible, so please if you are interested in a free session, sign up soon!

2014 Planning In Pieces

January 2, 2014 by Lamisha

medium_11687937746

Happy New Year my beautiful Dreamers!

I had every intention of writing a post on the first day of January, however I ended up spending some time with family and worked a bit on a workshop I am co-hosting later this month.  I did, however want to share with you how I am implementing my “planning” for the year, but before I get into that, let’s talk a bit about why everyone gets so worked up over resolutions.

It seems logical that a shiny new year is the right time to make changes in life, but the reason so many people fail to keep their resolutions is because they can often be both overzealous and all-or-nothing.  For instance, wanting to get into shape doesn’t necessarily mean you have to run 50 miles a week right off the bat and it certainly doesn’t mean you have to cut out large food groups from your diet.  Other resolutions like wanting to stop smoking or drinking sodas tends to render the same effect.  People want immediate change and while it might last for a few days, it very rarely results in lasting change.

While I haven’t really been a bit resolution maker in the past, I tend to get excited about what a new year may bring.  There seems to be a special appeal about making big changes and goals beginning on the first day of the year.  It’s similar to the feeling I get when I purchase a new notebook or journal.  Crisp pages, with the promise of fresh ideas, creative pieces, and other amazing creations that may appear on the page.  The New Year is like that for many.

In the past two years I have found that I benefit best from planning for the year ahead in pieces.  I don’t get too serious about the big, bold steps in between, and am more concerned with the first one.  Knowing what I want to accomplish is a wonderfully creative process where I get to visualize and imagine the best year yet, while still making room for surprises and other magical moments.  I have also always wanted to try out a creative planning tool for the new year that takes a less “logical” approach to planning and this year I think I have found the one.

I am using Leonie Dawson’s 2014 Create Your Amazing Year planner for business and personal planning and boy is it a beautifully crafted, creative planner!  And while the shiny, New Year was quickly approaching, I thought I would have an opportunity to dig into it before January 1st, but with family etc. I didn’t get as far as I initially wanted and that’s ok, because this year I am planning 2014 in pieces.  January is going to be my month of brainstorming, dreaming, creating, and following my inspiration wherever it may lead.  I already have some things in mind for this year and I am really looking forward to what is left to be revealed throughout the year.  One thing is for sure, this year is going to be incredible.

The “logical” planner might wonder how I can be so sure of what the outcome will be if I don’t have a specific, step-by-step breakdown of how I am going to make this year epic.  My answer? I know it because I not only trust that each step will lead me to the next, but I have also set the expectation that it will be.

And so it is.
