I don’t know who needs to hear this, but today I’m here to remind you that…
YES has the power to change your entire life for the better.
I know this to my core and over the years I’ve grown so accustomed to this truth that I am always excited to see what my next “yes” brings.
Now, it hasn’t always been this way. In fact, I was pretty “yes” averse back in the day. I had a very small comfort zone that didn’t really allow much room for new adventures, opportunities or things that would require me to say yes. If I didn’t already know it, you, or the outcome…my answer was almost certainly…no.
That is until I began challenging myself in college. While most people couldn’t wait to explore their freedom and do all the things, I was craving the certainty of the life I left behind. While it was far from perfect & in some ways dysfunctional, it’s the only thing I knew.
About half-way through my Freshman year in college I realized I needed to branch out a bit and explore. So, I challenged myself to say “yes” to more invites, opportunities, groups, and activities to broaden my horizon and to meet people and honestly…it was the best thing I could have ever done.
Trying new things, meeting new people and attending all kinds of interesting events expanded my mind and my comfort zone in ways I never imagined and it invited a level of magic and wonder into my life I didn’t know existed.
You see, I didn’t know what I didn’t know. I had no clue! And if it hadn’t been for the fact that I was willing to say “yes” to things that were intriguing and at times uncomfortable, I would have missed out on all of that magic.
In a world where so many of us allow fear and doubt to drive the bus of our lives…”yes” often feels off, awkward and sometimes unsafe.
But friends, let me tell you saying yes to that butterfly in the gut, exciting opportunity, vision in your mind has the power to transform the next 30-60-100 days or maybe your entire life.
And you know what stops most people from saying ‘yes’ to the very thing that will change their lives more than ever…the lack of trust in themselves.
They seem to question it all as they ask questions like…
Is this the “right” way or the “wrong” way?
Does this make sense?
Will it work out?
What if it doesn’t?
What if I fail?!
All the questions that limit us. All the fear that binds us. All the worry about something that we can’t truly know until we say YES.
No, I’m not telling you to say ‘yes’ all willy-nilly without regard to what it is or what it entails, but I am inviting you to tune into YOU and to learn to trust yourself.
Feel into it. Get curious about it and ask yourself “What if?”
You’ve probably heard the saying that most people don’t regret the things they did, but instead regret the things they didn’t do so what is that for you?
–>What feelings, thoughts, nudges, ideas, and inklings have you been having that you’ve shut out because they are uncomfortable or scary.
–>What opportunities have you turned down because you’re second-guessing yourself and your abilities?
–>What ideas are you talking yourself out of because they feel new, different or just plain scary?
What is your mind/fear/doubt saying “no” to that your heart and future self are urging you to say YES to?
That thing (or things) you just thought of…yep, that’s what I’m referring to.
Is it time to say yes? (That’s a trick question because there is no better time than now to say yes!)
So…let this be your call to action to move forward and say yes to that rumbling in your soul….that feeling that has been tugging at you for far too long…that voice that whispers to you “There is more available to you & it’s time you take that step!”
Step out on faith, say YES & see what happens, you may just find it’s the exact next step you were looking for. What do you have to lose?
–> P.S. If the rumble in your soul has been asking you to reach out and get support, you truly have nothing to lose and EVERYTHING to gain when you book a quick chat with me. Let’s see if we are a good fit & make 2021 the best year yet.
